JOT AUTOMATION GROUP PLC ESTABLISHED A SYSTEM FACTORY TO SWEDEN
JOT Automation Group Plc has established a System Factory near the town of Kumla, in the municipality of Laxå, Sweden. Initially, the System Factory will cover the rented production premises - approximately 750 m² in all. The construction of new production premises, 2500 m² in all, will be completed for the operation of the System Factory in summer 2001. Mr. Tomas Hartman, who has previously worked as the Technical Manager of Ericsson's main plant for cellphone production, has been nominated as the Director of the System Factory.
In addition, the following nominations have been made at the System Factory: Mr. Joakim Torpfeld as the Manager of Global Service Operation, Mr. Kåre Karlsson Manager of Layout Design, and Mr. Mikael Nilsson Manager of Test Automation.
The System Factory will operate as an assembler and tester of the production systems for Swedish customers. The operation of the System Factory includes assembling complete systems from components, products, and sub-assemblies delivered by contract suppliers and JOT Automation Group Plc's product factories as well as systems testing, test drives, and customer approvals. The factory is also responsible for the service operations of Swedish customers, globally.
The System Factory will cooperate with Laxnet Automation AB, in which JOT Automation Group Plc has a 10% holding. Laxnet Automation AB is a cooperation network owned by six companies. It is located near Kumla, and it concentrates on production automation for the electronic industry, primarily as a supplier for the Ericsson's mobile phone factory in Kumla.
JOT Automation Group Plc specializes in manufacturing and marketing production automation for the electronics industry. The group has subsidiaries, partners and representatives in 14 countries. On June 30, 2000 the group employed 747 people and its net sales from January 1 to June 30, 2000 came to 75.7 million euros. The company's shares are listed on the Helsinki Exchanges.
