Oulu, Finland, January 20, 2021 – Bittium, a leading specialist for secure communications, connectivity, and medical technology solutions, launches next-generation Bittium OmegaSnap™ ECG Electrode for the Bittium Faros™ ECG sensors. Bittium OmegaSnap™ is a wearable ECG patch electrode specifically designed for long term ECG recordings. The new electrode is based on the popular Bittium FastFix™ electrode, which has been further developed into an even more user-friendly shape based on the feedback received from our customers, without compromising the excellent signal quality. Additionally, environmental friendliness has been taken into account in the design by reducing the amount of plastic used in an electrode.
Bittium OmegaSnap™ ECG Electrode connects to the Bittium Faros™ sensor through a new reusable Bittium OmegaSnap™ Adapter. The lightweight and discreet adapter makes it easier to place the electrode on a patient without a Faros sensor attached to it. The adapter also allows the Faros sensor to be temporarily detached from the patch electrode. In the case of remote monitoring, such as the Bittium HolterPlus™ solution, it significantly enhances the long-term use of the sensor, for example, when charging.
The biocompatible materials and adhesives used in the new Bittium OmegaSnap™ electrode are commonly used in the healthcare industry, making the patches well suited for continuous long-term ECG measurements (up to 7 days). The electrode's flexible structure allows for larger chest movements and moving freely during sleep, daily chores, or when exercising.
"We are extremely proud of our new OmegaSnap™ electrode," says Arto Pietilš, Senior Vice President of Bittium Medical Technologies. "Excellent anatomical fit and signal quality, extended wear time, and improved usability will take ECG measurements to a whole new level."
Bittium OmegaSnap™ ECG Electrode will be available during the first quarter of 2021. The sales package contains 50 Bittium OmegaSnap™ electrodes and one Bittium OmegaSnap™ adapter. The adapters are also available separately as accessories. For more information, please contact our sales at [email protected] or from our website at www.bittium.com/medical .
