JOT AUTOMATION GROUP RECEIVED A SIGNIFICANT ORDER OF ROBOTICS FROM NORTEL


JOT Automation Group's subsidiary in the U.S.A has received a significant first order from Nortel (Northern Telecom) for multiple robotic assembly cells.

This production line for the placement of electronc components onto Printed Circuit Boards is valued over FIM 5 million.

Assembly robots are used for "odd-form" components to increase production throughput and improve quality. The global market for this type of automation is experiencing strong growth.

"The Nortel order is not only the latest proof of our customers' confidence in JOT robotics expertice but also a significant breakthrough on the demanding American market", says president Jorma Terentjeff, JOT Automation Group Oyj.

JOT Automation Group is specialized in the manufacturing and marketing of production automation for the electronics industry. The Group has subsidiaries in seven countries and a complementary global sales and service network. The Group employs 390 people and the net sales during the first six months in 1998 were FIM 168 million. The net sales in fiscal year 1997 were FIM 183 million.
