JOT AUTOMATION GROUP PLC AND SIEMENS AG INTO COOPERATION


JOT Automation Group Plc and Siemens AG have entered into Global Cooperation Agreement for the developing a long-term partnership in Sales and Marketing for the electronics manufacturing automation.

The cooperation agreement includes marketing and sales of JOT turnkey solutions and products for SMD, testing, assembly and packing areas. JOT Automation Group and Siemens Production and Logistics Systems Group (PL) (Nuremberg) will also use their engineering forces collaboratively in order to offer competitive solutions for complete production automation lines to customers.

'We are very pleased with this cooperation agreement. Cooperation with Siemens is a great addition to our existing partnerships with HP and ABB.' says President, CEO Jorma Terentjeff. 'We are sure that together we are able to offer our customers even more competitive and complete solutions and products in the future. In Nordic countries JOT is the only company having this kind of strategic partnership with Siemens. This will be one of the strongest cooperations in our industry.'

JOT Automation Group specializes in manufacturing and marketing production automation for the electronics industry. The group has subsidiaries in eight countries. On June 30, 1999 the group employed 594 people and its net sales from January 1 to June 30, 1999 came to 52.9 million euros. The company's shares are listed in the Helsinki Exchanges.

Siemens PL is with it's division Electronic Assembly Systems a world leader in SMT component placement technology. The production of component placement systems is supplemented by extensive pre-sales consultation services and a wide variety of after-sales services. The PL Group of Siemens AG is with total sales of 2.7 Billion DM a world-leading global provider in its segment of the market. Siemens PL supplies a complete range of services as a system integrator ranging from individual, modular automation solutions to turn-key complete systems as a general contractor. In addition to its activities in the field of component placement and production systems for electronics manufacturing, Siemens PL is also a global player in the logistics and factory automation and in the postal automation segments of the market.
