APPOINTMENT AT JOT AUTOMATION GROUP PLC
JOT Automation Group Plc's appointed Jorma Meronen head of business operation in the Asian region beginning Jan. 1, 2000. Meronen's special area of responsibility is the start-up of JOT's business activity in the Southeast Asian countries of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.
In addition to his own work in the JOT Automation Group, from Sep. 1 to Dec. 31, 1999 Jorma Meronen will also hold the post of Finpro's commercial secretary in Kuala Lumpur, from which he will move to JOT. Finpro's new mode of operation concentrates on the internationalization of companies, market entry strategies and market entry planning.
JOT Automation Group specializes in manufacturing and marketing production automation for the electronics industry. The group has subsidiaries in eight countries. On June 30, 1999 the group employed 594 people and its net sales from Jan. 1 to June 30, 1999 came to 52.9 million euros. The company's shares are listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
