JOT AUTOMATION GROUP PLC RECEIVED ITS FIRST ORDER RELATED TO A FINAL PRODUCT PACKING SYSTEM

JOT Automation Group Plc has received its first order for automated packing systems for final products of the electronics industry. The value of the order is about 15 million FIM.

The automatic packing system introduced by JOT Automation Group Plc at the Nepcon West 99 Exhibition held in the USA in February is intended for automated packing of final products of the electronics industry. The new system expands JOT Automation Group's operation, making it a supplier of also automation for product packing and stockroom logistics in the electronics industry. Final products of the electronics industry have previously been packed almost completely manually. The order received concerns a part of a automatic packing system and enables later the complete automatization of packing.

With this sale JOT is entering an entirely new area. We are able to say we are the first supplier who can offer the customer an automation solution for the entire production process, concerning board handling, test handlers, robotics products, pallet systems and finally automatization of final packing equipment, says JOT Automation Group Plc's CEO, Jorma Terentjeff. The new packing system is of strategic importance for JOT, because we can speak of a new segment of production automation in the electronics industry. Only now is it possible to automate the entire production process. We expect also our packing system to be very successful in the market. 1997 we automated final assembly, 1998 we automated the test handling and now the packing of final products.
