JOT AUTOMATION GROUP PLC INTRODUCES A NEW ROBOT CELL FOR AUTOMATING


JOT Automation Group Plc will introduce the first product based on ABB's newest robot technology at the Nepcon West'99 fair in Anaheim, USA, Feb. 23-25, 1999.

This new generation robot cell is the first product jointly developed by JOT and ABB. The product is especially designed for the automation of final product packing in the electronics industry.

"Co-operation between JOT and ABB has worked very well, and as a result of this joint effort, the first product is now ready for the market", says president Jorma Terentjeff.

JOT Automation Group and ABB Robotics Products Ab entered a long-term co-operative agreement in September 1998 concerning development and marketing of a new generation of robots. The goal of the co-operative effort is to support JOT Automation Group's expansion into the area of supplying automation for product packing and stockroom logistics in the electronics industry.

JOT Automation Group is specialized in the manufacturing and marketing of production automation for the electronics industry. The Group has subsidiaries in seven countries. The Group employed 414 people at 30 September, 1998 and the net sales during the first nine months in 1998 were FIM 250,8 million. The net sales in fiscal year 1997 were FIM 183 million. The company is listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
