JOT Automation Group Plc to receive new production and operating facilities
JOT Automation Group Plc and Varma-Sampo, Mutual Pension Insurance Company, have today signed lease and cooperation agreements concerning new production and operating facilities to be built for JOT Automation Group Plc.
In accordance with its facility policy, JOT Automation Group Plc will operate in the new facilities as Varma-Sampo's leaseholder.
The leased facilities will comprise a 13,500 m2 manufacturing plant, which will be constructed right next to the Oulu airport in Oulunsalo municipality. The new building will house the current production in Oulunsalo, as well as research and development and central administration. JOT's head office will also be in the same premises. The plan is to take the premises into use by the end of 1999.
Special attention has been given in the design of the building to the flexibility and efficiency of the production facilities. The new plant will make it possible to manufacture large, complete turn-key systems in Oulunsalo. The production facilities give special consideration to the needs of research, development and customer training.
"The new facilities will increase the adaptability and capacity of JOT's´production to meet the needs of customers in different fields," says president Jorma Terentjeff. "Furthermore, the new plant will provide the prerequisites for developing entirely new plant and production concepts for electronics industry research, development, testing and manufacturing."
JOT Automation Group is specialized in the manufacturing and marketing of production automation for the electronics industry. The Group has subsidiaries in seven countries. The Group employed 414 people at 30 September, 1998 and the net sales during the first nine months in 1998 were FIM 250,8 million. The net sales in fiscal year 1997 were FIM 183 million.
The company is listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
