JOT Automation Group's personnel negotiations concluded

The personnel negotiations concerning the JOT Automation Group's Finnish units in Oulunsalo, Salo and Vantaa have been concluded today. As a result of the negotiations a total of 66 persons will be given a notice. The Group's foreign units will have their personnel reduced by approx. 40 persons. The personnel negotiations did not concern the assembly and component manufacturing (CMS) business units. The CMS business will provide work for few persons in the units sub-ject to personnel negotiations. Overall the amount of the Group's personnel will be decreased in total to approx. 480 persons.

The personnel negotiations are part of the measures, with which the JOT Automation Group will adjust its operations to meet the current level of demand. The objective of the actions to be imple-mented is the significant improvement in the profitability without, however, endangering delivery and service readiness. The total objective for the measures is 700,000 euros per month, at a minimum. The result of these measures is expected to be realized mainly during the second quar-ter of the year.

The completed personnel negotiations, which were held between February 18 and February 28, 2002, were carried out on the basis of the employer's negotiation proposal made on February 11, 2002. The negotiations concerned all the personnel groups in JOT Automation Group's working units in Oulunsalo, Salo and Vantaa. At the end of the year 2001 the amount of personnel in the JOT Automation Group was 588 persons, of whom 303 were in Finnish units and 285 abroad.
