ELEKTROBIT GROUP PLC'S INTERIM REPORT JANUARY 1 - JUNE 30, 2003
The operating profit for April to June 2003 was better than in the corresponding period in 2002 but clearly lower than the operating profit for the first quarter of 2003.
Comparisons between the second quarter of 2003, April to June, and the pro forma figures of the corresponding period a year earlier:
Net sales 33.9 million euro (35.2 million euro, representing a decrease of 1.3 million euro or -3.6%). The net sales of the Contract R&D business unit remained at the level of the second quarter of 2002, the net sales of the Test business unit increased, and the net sales of the Automation Solutions business unit decreased from the level of the second quarter of 2002.
Operating profit 1.6 million euro (0.8 million euro, an increase of 0.8 million euro).
Equity ratio 56.6% (50.3%).
Comparisons between the period from January to June 2003 and the pro forma figures of the corresponding period a year earlier:
Net sales 69.3 million euro (66.0 million euro, representing an increase of 3.3 million euro or 5.0%). The net sales of the Contract R&D business unit, 29.7 million euro (30.3 million euro), remained at the level of the first half of 2002, the net sales of the Test business unit, 28.8 million euro (20.9 million euro), increased, and the net sales of the Automation Solutions business unit, 10.8 million euro (14.7 million euro), decreased from the level of the first half of 2002.
Operating profit 5.2 million euro (-3.3 million euro, an increase of 8.5 million euro).
Cash flow from operations 10.8 million euro (-1.7 million euro, an increase of 12.4 million euro).
The figures presented in this interim report are compared with the pro forma figures for 2002. The pro forma accounting principles applied in 2002 are described later in this report.
