ELEKTROBIT OFFERS IMPROVED TIME TO MARKET AND REDUCED COSTS TO SERIES 60 LICENSEES

Elektrobit announced its involvement today in a new reference implementation being developed in cooperation with Nokia and Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI). The reference implementation is the result of Nokia and TI's collaboration to combine their technology expertise. This reference implementation enables Elektrobit to offer Series 60 licensees turnkey mobile phone development with improved time to market and lower cost.

Based on TI's OMAP™ processor-powered complete reference design, the OMAP730, the implementation is available immediately to Series 60 licensees and has already been successfully endorsed in the market by some of the leading mobile device manufacturers. Leveraging the Series 60 ecosystem, the overall systems integration and validation was performed by Elektrobit, a Series 60 Boutique. Elektrobit is also a Texas Instruments Independent OMAP Technology Center.

"Elektrobit's extensive design and systems integration expertise has been an essential component of this project," said Paul Werp, Cellular Systems Marketing Director for Texas Instruments. "The results of these comprehensive skills will create significant benefit for customers of this design."
