EB PROVIDED CONSULTING FOR THE LAUNCH oF THE FIRST COMMERCIAL 4G NETWORK iN FINLAND
The mobile broadband network and mobile service of Datame Oy, a Finnish communications solutions company, built in record time.
EB, Elektrobit Corporation, the leading developer of cutting-edge embedded technology solutions for the automotive and wireless industries, had a key role in supporting Datame Oy to build a 4G network and to launch commercial mobile broadband service. EB provided consulting in technology and vendor assessment, and in business case development of the mobile broadband network.
Datame Oy, owned by eleven members of the Finnet Group, holds a nationwide license for a mobile broadband network. Datame Oy today launched its 4G network and services in six locations: Kouvola, Kotka, Laitila, Lappeenranta, Ylivieska, and Raahe. "EB's role was crucial in this historically fast project. Building the network would not have been possible without engaging EB", says Asmo Uljanoff, CEO of Datame. "Based on the evaluation done with EB we were able to assess the vendors and key components in developing a mobile broadband network. EB's strong expertise and knowledge on mobile terminals helped us to choose end-user devices for our service", Uljanoff continues.
In addition to vendor and technology assessment, EB guided the project and business planning of the rollout of the mobile broadband services. EB also supported the vendor negotiations and the business process development such as order, delivery, installation, deployment and maintenance of the network.
EB provides planning and consulting services for operators and handset manufacturers in mobile devices and broadband technologies such as 3G, LTE, and WiMAX.
